Thank you so much to Ruth Ann for all of the hard work on putting together our Party Extravaganza! You did a great job! We had demonstrators from Stanley Fuller, Avon (not pictured), Tupperware, Tastefully Simple and Thirty-One.
Thank you to all the demonstrators, we had a blast and are looking forward to the next Extravaganza!

RECAP: Better Tomorrows National Conference and Banquet
During the last week of April I traveled to Atlantic City, New Jersey to attend the Better Tomorrows (BT) National Conference. This year it was held at Resorts Casino Hotel. I am on the conference committee and am responsible for general organization during the conference and most importantly microphones, projectors, screens, laptops, etc. It is a lot of work but so much fun!
Prior to this years conference I received an email that I was chosen for the 'High Achievers' of the year. I was invited to a special meeting then we went to an amazing lunch on the boardwalk! Over the next couple of days I continued my responsibilities to the committee while attending break-out sessions and training seminars.
Thursday night we were invited to an Awards Banquet and dinner. During the banquet I received an award for being on the conference committee, an award for 10 years of service and an award for 'High Achievement'. It was so fun and felt great to be recognized for my hard work.
There were many awards given out to so many talented and amazing people. The night was getting more and more emotional! Rebecca (the BT CEO) was announcing the Ambassador Award for the year. This award is given to one Senior Site, one Family Site and this year they gave one out to a person in the National Office. Traditionally given to Social Service Coordinators. We all awaited anxiously to see who would receive this prestigious award!
CAN YOU BELIEVE THEY CALLED MY NAME????!!!!! It was one of the most amazing nights of my life and I will never forget it. Below are some pictures so you can relive the moment with me. Enjoy!
PS. Thank you to ALL the staff and residents at Shirley Futch Plaza. It is because of YOU that I was able to receive these awards ;)

Travel Day -> Canada
Canada, stretching from the U.S. in the south to the Arctic Circle in the north, is filled with vibrant cities including massive, multicultural Toronto; predominantly French-speaking Montréal and Québec City; Vancouver and Halifax on the Pacific and Atlantic coasts, respectively; and Ottawa, the capital. It’s also crossed by the Rocky Mountains and home to vast swaths of protected wilderness.
Capital: Ottawa
Population: 35.16 million (2013) World Bank
Prime minister: Justin Trudeau
Queen: Elizabeth II
Its ten provinces and three territories extend from the Atlantic to the Pacific and northward into the Arctic Ocean, covering 9.98 million square kilometres (3.85 million square miles), making it the world's second-largest country by total area and the fourth-largest country by land area. Canada's border with the United States is the world's longest land border. Canada is sparsely populated, the majority of its land territory being dominated by forest and tundra and the Rocky Mountains; about four-fifths of the country's population of 35 million people live near the southern border. The majority of Canada has a cold or severely cold winter climate, but southerly areas are warm in summer.
Canada is a federal parliamentary democracy and a constitutional monarchy, with Queen Elizabeth II being the head of state. The country is officially bilingual at the federal level. It is one of the world's most ethnically diverse and multicultural nations, the product of large-scale immigration from many countries. Its advanced economy is the eleventh largest in the world, relying chiefly upon its abundant natural resources and well-developed international trade networks. Canada's long and complex relationship with the United States has had a significant impact on its economy and culture.
