Certificate of Achievement -> Fun with Keyboarding

Left to right -> Verna, Marie & Michael

This hardworking group received certificates of achievement for the dedication they put into our Fun with Keyboarding class. They come to every single class and thoroughly enjoy it.

Fun with Keyboarding is a class designed around learning the keyboard. We DO NOT have timed typing tests and we ARE NOT required to type using the 'finger chart'. We DO require a fun attitude and a willingness to learn and participate.

We have learned all the keys on the keyboard and their uses, antonyms, homonyms, synonyms, slang and the list goes on! If you are interested in attending this fun AND educational class please see the monthly schedule in the newsletter for dates & times. Class is held monthly and we'd love you have YOU participate!!

Still not convinced this class is fun? Ask Verna, Marie or Michael and they WILL convince you ;)

5th Annual Holiday Extravaganza!

On Thursday, December 11th we celebrated the holiday season with our annual Holiday Extravaganza! The entire day was completely devoted to celebrating the season with our residents.

Our festive day began with "Breakfast with the Elves". Residents are served hot chocolate, coffee, tea, orange juice, donuts and muffins.

At 11:00 we celebrated by watching a presentation called 'Home For the Holidays'. This unique slideshow talks about the history of the Pocono Mountains.

After lunch, we had a VERY successful cookie exchange.

The best part of the day - Ugly Shirt/Apron Contest and group sing-along!

Grand Prize winner - Mary Ann!

2nd Place Winner - Mary

3rd Place Winner - Dorothy

Miscellaneous Photos from throughout the day:

Our Photobooth (thanks Dot, for all of your help making the booth! Residents will receive a printed copy & a digital copy of their picture):

A HUGE thank you to all of you that made this a successful event. We had a great day, hope you had as much fun as we did!!
Merry Christmas from all of us to all of you!

Wii Bowling

Way back in September we started a Wii bowling league. We had 16 people join our league with Billy as the commissioner. We played games throughout the month of September into early October. Donald and Billy each donated money so that we could offer a cash prize to the winning team. Turns out the Pinheads (Mark, Chad, Sue & Shar) won! We took their money and threw a pizza party for all the players!

During our party the Pinheads challenged the Knuckleheads (Billy, Michael, Verna & Betty) to one last game.

Here is the winning team:

Congrats Knuckleheads!!!

Everyone is looking forward to a new bowling tournament starting in January!
