Travel Day - Japan

Japan is an island nation in the Pacific Ocean with dense cities, imperial palaces, mountainous national parks and thousands of shrines and temples. Shinkansen bullet trains connect the main islands of Kyushu (with Okinawa's subtropical beaches), Honshu (home to Tokyo and Hiroshima’s atomic-bomb memorial) and Hokkaido (famous for skiing). Tokyo, the capital, is known for skyscrapers, shopping and pop culture.

Mother's Day 2018 - Red Carpet Celebration

WARNING: Tons of pictures!

The ladies of SFP were treated to a Red Carpet luncheon for our annual Mother's Day Celebration.

Upon arrival, residents walked down the Red Carpet to be interviewed by our Hostess Lisa (she's also the Social Service Coordinator):

Residents were checked out by Security (Chad & Mark, they're also the 'Maintenance Guys') and some were even escorted!  They must have been bad....

Entering the Community Room they were greeted by our beautiful MC - Sue (she's also the Property Manager):

Look at this spread:

Over 40 ladies attended!

We gave out fun awards! Example, Marie won for 'Most Shirley Futch Team Spirit'

After the party, the ladies had to get their stars from the wall of fame:

It was a wonderful Mother's Day Celebration!  Here are some final pictures of your crazy staff!

We love you Shirley Futch!!!

April Birthday Party

On Thursday April 19, the residents of Shirley Futch Plaza celebrated all of our April birthdays.  Afterward, Chad Smiley (SFP Maintenance Technician and East Stroudsburg Volunteer Firefighter) facilitated a fire safety course.  He demonstrated his uniform and gear, showed us how to correctly use a fire extinguisher, discussed the fire evacuation procedures for our site and allowed time for a Q&A.  It was a very resourceful April birthday party!
