Back to School Party & 1st Annual Spelling Bee

Our Sue has such GREAT ideas!! We had a wonderful time at our Back to School party and Spelling Bee! We started our afternoon off with a cafeteria-style lunch. Gail, Sue and I served vegetable lasagna, chicken nuggets (dinosaur shaped!), tossed salad, chocolate chip cookies and juice.

While we cleaned up lunch the 'students' made name tags.

And then it was time for the spelling test.
The top spellers came to the front of the room for a verbal spell-off. (left to right)Verna Overpeck, Janice Jenkins, Pat Fogarty, Beverly Beck, Marie Counterman, Natalie Stackhouse, Margaret McColligan and MA Armellei:

After an intense spell-off, the Shirley Futch Plaza speller of the year award goes to Margaret McColligan!

Dear Cafeteria Staff:
Can you tell where I can get one of those beautiful hair nets?

I can't remember when we have had more fun. The lunch ladies were cute in their hairnets and the teachers were a little strict but we showed them how smart we are. Thank you all so much for a real good time.
